Tourism Ireland lovingly encourages the suggestion of Aer Lingus to open two new routes from source (Europe) to Destination (Ireland) for 2012. The two new routes is from Stockholm (Sweden) and Verona (Italy) to Dublin. We are already working closely with Aer Lingus and Dublin Airport to maximise the demand for these new routes and boost tourism. A €9 million tourism marketing blitz with carriers – including Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Aer Arann, Emirates, US Airways and ferry companies – is under way right now in major markets, supported by revenues from the air travel tax and involving matching funds from the carriers.
