Historic monument ‘Colosseum’ is in danger

Italian most popular historic monument Colosseum is fully covered with snow. Colosseum is one of the most tourist attractions in Italy which was constructed before 2000 years old. It attracts over 7000 tourist in a day and paying 12 Euros per ticket. Italian stopped the arrival of tourist to visit the colosseum as there is a chance of bricks damage and for the restoration works is going on.

When the temperatures drop below zero, and there is rain and snow, it causes ice to form which, with the increase in volume, pushes the external plaster masonry and causes small pieces to fall off. Archaeologist and superintendent of monument would take several steps to prevent the damage.  Colosseum which was closed temporarily is yet to reopen on Thursday and if the snow fall continued further, Rome suggests using a type of cold-weather "blanket" for exposed monuments.
